Desi the BRAVE

Hey everyone, sorry My Mom hasn't blogged in a loooong time. She has been very busy. Today she asked if Desi could use the Blog to tell the world something. I said if it helps him get his own home go for it. Don't get me wrong he is a great dog I just don't like sharing my frisbee time with him. (he likes to chase me)

To all my friends and especially anyone looking for the greatest friend ever!! I have been very busy working on being a brave dog. My bio states that I am a special needs dog. I want to let people know that what I need is a patient and loving family. In return I will give you more love then you can imagine. My foster Mom and I had a long talk the other day. I was wondering why nobody was asking about me. She told me that once I could show how much I have worked on being brave my forever family would find me.

Yesterday Gavin came to visit my foster family. He was kinda scary at first but as the day went on I realized that he wasn't so scary. All the other dogs really like him so he must be o.k.

He was at the house this morning and I decided to be as brave as I could and I walked up to him and let him pet me. I thought my foster Mom would cry.

It wasn't so bad, in fact I went back again and this time he had treats.

Then I had to take a break and then I went back for some more pets!!!!

So to the world I am ready for a forever family to help me become an even braver boy

go to www.nebcr.org and read more about me

Love,
Desi (the Desirable) and the BRAVE

First Book Signing

Today everyone including Kiefer went to a place called the Farmers Market. They set up a booth and  had a huge poster to display.

While they were there, they talked to a lot of people about Mommy's book "My Dog Kiefer".
They talked about NEBCR and all of us dogs at home. Some people thought that having 6 dogs was crazy, that was until they heard about the two foster dogs living here too.
By the way the last time I blogged I was not happy with the foster dog who was here. I wanted him to find a family of his own and guess what he did!!!! However, now there are two dogs who need to find homes. Anyway enough about me.
People were very interested in the book and wanted to know more about how mommy adopted a deaf dog. This lead mommy to talk about how awesome NEBCR is and she got $3 in donations.
I don't think $3 is anything to brag about.
Mommy reminded me that it is $3 more dollars than we started with.
Mommy also raved about Kiefer being so well behaved today. He was letting all the children pet him and any adult who wanted too. He gave out some kisses and only jumped on people a few times.
If Kiefer was anything like me I would just avoid everyone, then there would be no jumping, but that's just me.
Here's Kiefer hanging out waiting for kids to come pet him.

Next week the family is off to another book signing, this time at a bank. The really big poster will be on display all week and the donation jar will be there too.
I hope they can raise a few more dollars.
Anyway thats enough about Kiefer as for me I will be taking a class about frisbees soon, so that blog will be the best, as Kiefer doesn't do frisbees.

Digby

Digby
So I have this dog living in my house. He never even asked me if he could stay for awhile. He just showed up at home with Mom on Sunday night. Everyone is calling him Digby.

For the first few days he was downstairs. We could smell him and we could hear him, but not see him. After a few days Mom brought him upstairs but he was hidden in the dining room. Then all of a sudden he has a space of his own where he can come out of his crate and see all of us.

He is very shy. He really likes his crate I think he feels safe in there.

Here he is with Nikki. He is starting to trust all the people in the house.

He gets all excited when the girls get home from school

Here is Shawnee and Kiefer saying hello
Kiefer really wants to be his friend

Here is a video of Kiefer and Digby being all silly through the gate

I have been told he is only staying for awhile. He has to go to the vet, get noodled and work on being less afraid of stuff. Mom said I also had to share that Digby now loves to go for walks. He goes a couple times a day and each time he gets braver and braver. Today he  went on a walk with Cisco. He liked being out with another dog. So now you all know about Digby in a couple of weeks he will be looking for a home of his own. When that times comes I will be counting on all of you to help find him a home. My house is already filled.

Here is a video of mommy signing Happy Birthday to Kiefer.
(shes weird)

I hope she remembers this on my Birthday and I get her on video doing something silly.

Kiefer's new Toys

Kiefer won two new toys from Priemer.
Mom entered a contest on
Facebook through Embrace Pet Insurance.
This was easy all she had to do was tell them why her dog should get a new toy.

We thought Kiefer was going to have surgery to remove his bad kidney and the cyst that has grown there. The specialist said to just leave everything alone, so good news no surgery. He does have to go to another special kind of vet, Mom calls her a holistic vet (what ever that is).

Here is a link so you can check out the toys. I give them 4 paws up.
We got the Pongo Plush Slap Happy, and the Pongo Plush Bunny.

The only problem is Kiefer doesn't like to share. Here is a video of him playing(and not sharing nice). I was playing a little but Mom took out the camera and I dislike that thing a lot.

Here are some cute photos

Thats all for now
time for you to go play with your furry friends!!

Happy New Year
Mom says its a good time to update the blog.We had another awesome snow day here in Ct. We love the snow. Kiefer gets a little crazy when he sees snow, watch this. Cisco tried his hardest to stop him but it didn't work. Mommy keep losing him as he raced across the yard.

Here are some photos of a few of us handing outside

Peyton is hoping for a treat!

I'm waiting for someone to throw the Frisbee

Shawnee and Kiefer waiting for some snow to catch

Shawnee claimed the Frisbee

Even when Mommy shovels snow I wait and watch that Frisbee

Here is another video of Kiefer. (Kiefer is the only dog who really does anything outside. Mommy can't throw the Frisbee and video tape me at the same time, I'm too fast. Cisco, Peyton and Shawnee just bark at me and Kiefer. Reilly  just doesn't play in snow.)
Here are some of Mommies favorite shots

A rare photo of Kiefer being still

Look no Frisbee in the shot

Kiefer trying to get between me and my Frisbee

I almost lost my Frisbee in all that snow

After a couple of hours of being outside this is what we do inside.

That's all for now, see you during the next storm!
